Free walk on the Indian Ocean beach
Just one minute from the center, there is a beautiful beach overlooking the Indian Ocean. It's a great place for a morning or evening stroll. If you're lucky, you might even get the chance to see fishermen pulling up their catch! Unfortunately, the waves are rough, so you can't swim there!
Sunday Market (free)
Every Sunday, a market opens in a nearby square. It's bustling with locals, and there are so many rare vegetables and fruits on display. It's well worth a look. Sometimes you can even sample some!
Walking around Colombo city (transportation fee charged)

The only luxury department store in Sri Lanka. It's small but very nice. Many foreigners enjoy shopping there, so the prices are reasonable.
Barefoot
This shop is famous for its colorful handwoven items. They also have a wide selection of cute stuffed toys, pouches, and other accessories. Just browsing is so much fun, you'll want to come back again and again. The finish is also excellent, so they make a very satisfying souvenir.
